If you're visiting El Yunque National Forest in north eastern Puerto Rico don't miss out on visiting the charming and historic small town of Palmer located just off route 3 and the 191 between Rio Grande and Luquillo. Known as El Portal de El Yunque, the area is filled with awesome restaurants, quaint little shops, art galleries and places to just sit and relax under a tree in a hammock with an icy cold natural fruit smoothie or local craft beer. TIP- Parking can be a challenge! Best to park in the big lot behind Caribbean Trading on the corner or at the other end of the street.
